THEMPEST band was formed in late 2005/2006, in the town of Szczytno (province Warmia - Mazury), as a result of cooperation between the two guitarists - Jakub Bogusz (Szakal) and Arek Górski (Górek). In December 2005 the band was joined by drummer Krzysztof Lupa (Kris) and bassist Krzysztof Napiórkowski (Kristov aka Burzum). The project reached its full combat capability on autumn 2006 - when the band found a place for regular rehearsals in the Szczytno's MDK (Cultural Center). Since then TEMPEST slowly but continuously underlined its presence in the Warmia-Mazury metal scene.

Thempest's music is difficult to classify. However there is many influence of death and doom metal. The band managed to find and develop its own style, situated somewhere between death-black-doom genres. The band members define their music as dark/death metal. The lyrics deal mainly with politics, war, death, suffering, anti-religion etc.

In February 2009, in a private studio in Morąg (PL), the band recorded their first demo/ EP: "Spiritual depravation." Comprised of four tracks - the album was released on their own, at the beginning of 2010 (in a limited number of 200 copies).
