Sepulchrum (Denmark) - A Sepulchral Theme (demo 2009)

DEATH/BLACK/DOOM METAL

Demo 2009
Self released

"Sepulchrum was formed in September of 2007 by members Martin Pedersen (lead guitar), Lasse Guldhammer (vocals, guitar) and Lars Bisballe Jensen (drums). Until late summer 2008 the band primarily focused on cover songs by bands such as Bloodbath, Bolt Thrower, Carcass and Satyricon. At this point the band completed their lineup with the addition of bassist Anders Jacobsen, and began working on the songs for their first demo.
In August 2008 the band started developing their own sound and it quickly took shape as a mix of black metal and old-school death metal. 3 songs were composed and the production of the demo began in November of 2008. After several months of hard work the demo was released in March of 2009, but because of production issues it was re-released in May of 2009 with a highly improved sound. It was well recieved by both Danish and international publications. The demo also landed the band a nomination for the ‘Metal Talent of the Year’ award at the Danish Metal Awards 2009.
After the release of the demo the band focused on writing material for a full-length debut album. This resulted in 10 new songs that were recorded in late 2010. The album was mixed and mastered during Spring of 2011 and released on the internet in September of 2011 as a free downloadable release. At the same time, the band decided to disband because of artistic differences. The Gardens of Necropolis is their legacy. Sepulchrum is no more."
